Best to ditch Amazon and buy local whenever possible.

I ditched Amazon long ago. I don’t order anything from them. I would rather pay a little more and support local everything. Thank you Dr Rose!

Amazon Fresh (next door to Walmart superstore) is getting creamed. inflated prices if you don’t signup for their credit card. Fresh has ‘skip the checkout’ tech but never saw anyone use it.

Was at Latino supermarket yesterday and saw that they were in the process of installing ‘skip the checkout tech’. this will be extremely unpopular with this population (insanely poor choice, if it was a ‘choice’) that has a ultra-high affinity for cash.

The Hispanics in this area use mostly cash too. They have bank accounts, so they can cash their paychecks without getting dinged with a check cashing fee, and then use cash for their purchases.

They tend to be a practical and sensible bunch, by and large, has been my experience.

Especially given the attempt to switch us all to digital "money" and a centralized bank that sees all our purchases ~ and could conceivably freeze our accounts ~ it's always best to use cash whenever and wherever possible.

They installed self scan checkouts at our local Sainsbury's in UK and got rid of most of the tills. It caused chaos! Many people don't like it or want it - I absolutely refuse to use it until there is no other option. I wrote to the store manager half a dozen times complaining.

It's utterly ironic that they spend £ Millions on advertising to get customers in and when they do, we are treated like robots and they won't even fund minimum wage checkout staff.

I have largely changed supermarkets - hit 'em where it hurts! Hopefully they will eventually see sense.

My husband didn't like the sound of the Amazon Fresh market that opened near us. I haven't gone because I can imagine his disproval. I did hold onto some ads with good coupons but never made it in there. I would rather not make the ultra-rich richer.

Too much control in too few hands, not good. We need to learn faster.

I was just thinking the same thing. And the energy ,currency, water, “weather”, transportation, healthcare, language, media, forced jabs, medication, rigged elections, soon to be seized property, bank accounts, education,DNA and individual personhood , culls the population and unless we have a large enough presence, a loud enough voice and standing together, say NO MORE!! No more lies, corruprtion, WEF,UN, NATO, NGOs, bureaucracy, klepto-corporate multinational monopolistic, Machiavellian, megalomaniacal cartel of psychopath ic elite feudal overlords, we are ceding all things sovereign to a tyrannical transhuman technocratic “ Brave New World”.

How is it possible that only a scintilla of “ civilization “ is remotely aware of reality? Sleepwalking to slavery. NOBODY has our back! “ We The People” need to put aside our manipulating grievances, unite and fight back!

Fascinating and deeply troubling. China - wow! Just look at what all the cheap crap we bought from them got turned into. Industry in the US, UK, and Europe is being/has been destroyed just so that we can import cheap crap. Well done, industrialists. Bloody well done. On another note - where will people in China be employed once its all automated?

What am I missing? It is my experience and that of everybody here, that prices are going thru the roof, the Carrefour is very expensive!! Everything seems to have doubled since last year. Milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt, eggs - and fresh vegetables, red paprika's for 8 euros! etc. etc. - I have no idea what this docu is about, but if these low price stores were near me I'd be interested in their prices. In the meantime, I am going to check out if there are farmers in my area that sell to the public. I know in The Netherlands they have a pretty good system in place and friends, who buy from a local farmer are very happy with their purchases. I wonder if the farmer would charge 3 euros for a cauliflower, or 1,50 for a cucumber.

I get my meat from a butcher who buys everything from farms within a 25 mile radius.

I get my milk delivered 3x a week from a local dairy.

I get a vegetable box and eggs delivered weekly from a local farm.

The quality is much better, products are far fresher, and there is no problem with supply, which we have seen recently in UK supermarkets.

Most interesting video. Having sold on Amazon for over 10 years (I detest saying their name), I know how the beast functions. I no longer sell there.

They can be had at their own game but these large korporations are blind to it.

The one thing I hear all the time is that Amazon is convenient and I have no time.

I respond thusly.

Convenience = loss of freedom.

Shop locally. Support the small local stores. Reclaim your freedom!

From Over Here, I despise Amazon. It's worse than dealing with lawyers, who want one hand in your pocket before they do anything...Convenience isn't everything...think; "...do I really need to have this...?"

How do we get a real local farming movement going, including in urban areas (including hydroponic )? Is there one already happening?

Sorry, just do not see the problem here. I would much rather shop at WF than any local competitor, as products are generally better and fresher. Prime helps too, as well as additional 5% back on prime Amex card. So, what's not to like? Also, returns are easy, but generally not needed. I like the Chineese mkt concept shown here. Hydroponics can be great, also fresh, and data on product at granular level is wonderful.

You're selling your freedom for a 5% rebate? That's how they entice you to reel you in. And before you know it, they will have a CBDC, no more cash and total control of your money - including when and where you can spend it. It's all coming real soon; many places no longer accept cash already.

Also, I watched a sciency programme which said that compared to years ago our modern vegetables contain much less goodness than traditionally grown ones - even though they look prettier.

All that sparkles...
